C-SITE cameras are also used to capture the processes behind company walls.
As a specialist in logistics processes, Katoen Natie is not only interested in building a warehouse, but also in setting up the storage systems. Here, preparations are made for stocking designer furniture. A 30-second timelapse highlights Katoen Natie's expertise. But such a video is also useful as an internal evaluation tool.
Thibaut Van den Berghe, Head of Aftermarket and Automotive & Industry, talks about the collaboration between Katoen Natie and C-Site.
Our collaboration started in 2019, with a first project in Ghent. We built a warehouse there for a customer who needed a totally new kind of warehouse layout. We worked there with a wide range of automation, such as conveyors, vertical elevators, automatic packing,... . This was a major project and, in terms of automation, a first for the Ghent site. That's why we wanted to capture the construction of the warehouse inrching and use the images towards the customer, as a commercial tool.
So the photos and timelapse videos show the creation of the layout of our warehouses. Originally the goal was mainly commercial: to keep our customers informed and involved in the construction of their warehouses, so they could look forward to the completion. We also use it towards new customers, to realize future projects & include them in commercial files. And thirdly - especially since the corona lock-downs - it is also a useful tool to track project progress. Since we were quasi unable or not allowed to go on site at that time, it was a good alternative for the project team to track the progress of the construction. This is also useful when following up on a warehouse build abroad.
When there are new projects, we now usually use C-Site. More and more project managers are seeing the usefulness of the cameras.
C-Site is a specialist in monitoring logistical construction processes. These projects are ideal for imaging with a timelapse camera:
- today's logistics buildings are so much more than big boxes: they are innovative and sustainable hubs with consideration for their environment.
- the projects are sometimes at a great distance from the clients, and we like to help them monitor progress from a distance.
- logistics projects are built quickly and efficiently: very interesting for a fun timelapse.
- There are often many parties involved in construction and we love keeping them up-to-date with our real-time photos and videos!
