As part of constant renewal, tanks were replaced at the Ertvelde facility. Strategically located on the Ghent-Terneuzen canal, Total Ertvelde is the leading producer of lubricating oils in Belgium and the second largest for Total in Europe. Total Ertvelde is an international player employing 190 people and producing some 185 000 tons of complex lubricating oils for various sectors each year. The site is also the heart of logistics services for a large part of Europe.
TotalEnergies Ertvelde chose C-SITE to visualize a logistically challenging process. Large oil tanks were replaced through a specially made opening in the roof. Using a crane, the tanks were very carefully lifted outside and inside, and then the opening was closed again. Three camera positions were chosen to show this complex process:
